Find Your Fire – TEDx 2018 at the Lycée Français de New York

 

On Friday, March 9th at 4:30pm in our auditorium the TED Club will put on their third annual TEDx@LFNY conference. The theme this year is “Find Your Fire.” Speakers from in and outside the Lycée Français de New York will discuss the different projects and ideas that fascinate them. Come by to hear the inventor of Connect Four discuss toy invention, a senior discuss new learning methods, a youth politician who ran for mayor at sixteen, an actress form 13 Reasons Why,  a student on texting and language, and many more….

The TEDxLFNY Club starts preparing the Spring conference in September. Through biweekly and lunch meetings, the conference schedule comes together. Each member is in charge of specific aspects of the conference. They also invite and secure guest speakers. This years visuals were created by Eleanor Shemtov. The club faculty facilitators are Victoire Patouillard and Sylvie Ozon.

On March 21, 2017 the members of the TEDxLFNY Club and members of our school community gathered for an entertaining evening. The audience enjoyed talks delivered by student-members and guest speakers about diverse subjects encircling the theme “Taking Flight”.

The emcees, then seniors Mael Sanh-Perrier and Axelle Marcantetti, announced each speaker with a few sentences. The ensuing talks ranged from the debt crisis, sports medicine, and the virtues of alone-time, as well as more eccentric themes, like a praise for asking questions and advice on how to live life to the fullest.
