Friday: It’s the preschool students favorite day! Pre-K and kindergartners paraded in costume for Halloween with their dressed-up teachers, in front of ecstatic parents and family members. Happy Halloween!
Wednesday: The LFNY hosted a panel with a number of alumni from McGill University living in New York City. The former students talked about their experience at the Canadian University, what professional path they ended choosing as well as the strength of the alumni network. Wednesday: All pre-k students took part in an exciting scavenger hunt throughout the primary school. Divided into small groups, the students had to go to different places based on the clues hidden in black bags! All the while, they had to beware of the witch Annabelle, who was roaming around…
Tuesday: Y11 students visited the “Frida Kahlo: Art, Garden and Life” exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden with their Spanish teacher, Ms. Meddah-Rubin. The shows ends on Sunday, November 1st. (credit: A. Torta)
Tuesday: Artist in residence Aurelien Kairo and dancer Karla Pollux are working all week with the 8th graders showing them what hip hop is about: Peace, Unity, Having Fun. Four classes have worked on different ensemble choreographies as well as personal steps in small groups.
Monday: The players from the Varsity Soccer Girls team are refocusing during their game against Columbia Prep School in Randall’s Island. “This team has a lot of potential”, says coach Eric Cielenou, “as 2/3 of the team is composed of 9th grade students which will grow stronger in the coming years.” The team ended third place in the league side by side with Trevor Day School (credit: D.
