On November 16th, we welcomed close to 200 alumni at our alumni reunion cocktail, at the Dear Irving on Hudson rooftop at the Aliz Hotel in Times Square. Old classmates saw each other again, some after more than 30 years apart. Younger and older generations mixed and discovered one another.
Some teachers joined us adding to the reminiscing feeling and bringing back old school memories.
During the day Saturday alumni came to visit the current building to see its many changes and evolution into the more modern technologies. Terminale and Première students led tours to showcase the building and share their current experiences. It also helped them better understand that next year at graduation they will join this alumni community.
We took group pictures by decades and cheered on during the group picture of the four alumni who graduated in the 1970s.
We looked at old yearbooks together, got new alumni tee-shirts and shared time together.
On Friday afternoon we also had a panel presentation led by our proviseure , Evelyne Estey, which included teachers, alumni and students, who presented the Lycée today.
It had been a long time since the Lycée welcomed its alumni back so this was a very happy moment. We share the history of the Lycée in the main lobby with an exhibit of old pictures from 1935’s Lycée creation to today. Come take a look next time you are in the building!
Everyone was happy to get together and meet other generations of alumni who experienced la vie de notre Lycée.
