Friday: Pre-K students rehearse with their music teacher for the upcoming Winter Concert. After practicing singing on stage, the children take a break and work on their motor skills with plastic sticks while learning French vocabulary “bâtons parallèles!”
Thursday: Head of school Sean Lynch leads the ASHOKA Club, that teaches young people about social entrepreneurship. Here, the students just watched a TED Talk about street artist J.R. who explains his philosophy of “art for change”.
Wednesday: The 1st and 2nd graders are studying all about astronomy (here, the word “Ghaymah” means “cloud”) at the weekly arabic club that was introduced this year at the Lycée. The 12 young participants are learning modern standard arabic. Another club for older children (grades 3-5) meets separately.
Tuesday: Congratulations to our Junior Varsity Boys team who won their basketball game against Browning school 49-29.
Monday: LFNY Chairman of the Board Stephan Haimo welcomes the new members of the De Fontnouvelle Circle during a launch party at the Asia Society.
