Happy Holidays! And speaking of happy, I am quite pleased to report on two more successful alumni events that recently took place:
On November 26, 2012, alumni gathered at 60 Thompson to further develop the Class Captain Program for the LFNY. This is an exciting time was we advance the program for both our alumni and our current students. Thanks to Alumni Class Captain Hania Abrous-McCarthy (’88) and her brother and alumnus Mehdi Abrous (’96) for their assistance with the location for the event. Sean Lynch, Head of School, seized the opportunity to speak with everyone to share his enthusiasm for and commitment to advancing the alumni program as it is a key to the future of the school. Two weeks later on December 7, 2012 Class of 2002 celebrated its 10-year anniversary with a reunion event here at LFNY. The evening was filled laughter, nostalgia and an old-school songbook thanks to reunion co-chairs Chanez Baali, Aline Sarah, Jessica Shearer, Ana Ortiz and Elektra Carras. These 2002 alumni worked closely with the Alumni Office to organize the evening and contact their classmates to ensure that the event was well-attended. Claude’s goal is to develop a thriving program that alumni of multiple promotions will find engaging and compelling. Prior to coming to the Lycée, Claude co-directed the start-up and development of two Gates Foundation High schools, Food and Finance High School and the High School for Hospitality Management (HSHM). At these schools, he designed and implemented a work-based mentoring program for students. Claude is an avid Olympique de Marseille fan.
