To analyze the consequences of this phenomenon, Catherine Blaya, professor of science education at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis and who oversees the International Observation Center for Violence in Schools. 
She was invited by the school and our parents association, the APL, to share her knowledge during two different events, in meetings with teachers and a special conference with our eighth graders. She also participated in an evening conference “Social Media for 
Our Children and Ourselves,” moderated by Jeffrey Kluger, a senior editor at Time Magazine with the participation of LFNY Alumnus Bernard Harcourt, who heads the Center of Critical Thinking at Columbia University and is the author of Exposed: Desire and Disobedience in the Digital Age.
During her sessions, Catherine Blaya shared data and much insight on social media use among children, with a particular focus on cyber bullying and how to prevent and address it. Bernard Harcourt engaged us in a thought-provoking conversation about our privacy, which seems ever compromised in our online, data-driven world.
