LFNY-Spring-Fair-Photo-by-Tricia-S.-Ramsay-8Saturday: Students take part in a Kung-Fu workshop in the school’s gym during the annual Spring Fair, a community event hugely popular among the LFNY community. Parents and staff mingle and try foods baked by families while students do arts and crafts or sports activities.

Club escalade-13Friday: Students from third to seventh grade learn climbing every Friday during this after-school club. Here, they practice letting go of the wall once they reach the top, trusting their partners to secure them below.

MaquetteThursday: Seventh graders created a miniature version of a theater during an Itinéraire de découverte on the theme of Egyptology and theater (photo P. Kerbel).

Green Thumb Project - Perfumes-41Wednesday: Pre-K classes are exploring the magical world of aromas in a special visit with French perfumers. Each class was split into three small groups and passed around unmarked bottles with concentrated scents. The students had to guess what the smells were. In another group, students drew what the odors reminded them of. In another group, students had to name the aromatic plant they were smelling, such as mint or basil.

Dissection coeur mouton 2nde-CM2Wednesday: The Lycée celebrates Science Week with events all week long. Today, fifth graders attend classes on dissection led by tenth graders. In groups of three, they dissected a sheep’s heart. The school’s Science Fair started on Monday, May 9 and will last until Tuesday, May 17.

Heure Musicale 05.09-20Monday: It’s show time for the Lycée’s musicians in Primary. One by one, they take the stage to perform and play an instrument during Heures musicales. Though piano was the most frequent instrument of choice, students also played the trumpet, the cello and even the electric guitar. (Photo: Y. Mansouri)
